While Senator Pat Robert was speaking I notice Vice President Pence sitting and had a thought. We’re was Trump and and would Pence also go to Trump funeral?
I disagreed with Bob Dole’s policies and priorities on many things, just as I did with his fellow Republican nominees for the nation’s highest office, John McCain and Mitt Romney, but I never doubted for a moment that they were all people of tremendous personal integrity. Indeed, that’s what the Republican Party once stood for — honor, character, doing the right thing even if it was hard. Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Everett Dirksen, Edward Brooke, Colin Powell, …
I too was not a great fan of Bob Dole’s policies and politics, but I did respect him as a disabled veteran and, more importantly, a man of great integrity. I can’t help but think how people on both sides of the aisle could have learned something from him, including former President Trump.

My husband had an uncle who could never walk without crutches. When he died a little girl at his funeral said: Jack can walk now.

Yes, maybe, if you believe that stuff. Streets paved in gold, and rivers flowing with jewels, too.

It reminds me of a cartoon in which Ray Charles has a hand’s taking off his glasses and he says, “Oh, God, it’s beautiful”.
