    I disagreed with Bob Dole’s policies and priorities on many things, just as I did with his fellow Republican nominees for the nation’s highest office, John McCain and Mitt Romney, but I never doubted for a moment that they were all people of tremendous personal integrity. Indeed, that’s what the Republican Party once stood for — honor, character, doing the right thing even if it was hard.     I too was not a great fan of Bob Dole’s policies and politics, but I did respect him as a disabled veteran and, more importantly, a man of great integrity. I can’t help but think how people on both sides of the aisle could have learned something from him, including former President Trump.
