Ain’t that the truth! Or once you’ve figured out what they want and you do it, it doesn’t work because the instructions were for a different model and don’t work with what you have. That is maddening.
I sympathize with ‘Mr. Dear’. With all the ‘gadgets(apps) on my phone, all I use is ’phone calls’ and text messages, don’t understand any of the rest ! ! ! ! !
My father had a 2004 Prius. The owner’s manual was written in English that had obviously been translated from Japanese. It was a struggle to get past the language barrier. By the time I bought my Prius in 2009, they had written the manual in English.
My cell phone did come with an instruction booklet. The print is so small that I can’t even begin to read it. (I do have some visual difficulties, but I doubt that I would have done the struggling to read the stupid thing even before I had problems). Fortunately, I can look up things about it online, but that’s a hassle, too. I share Sir Isaac’s hatred of cell phones. I use only what I absolutely have to. And I’ll give up my beloved landline when they pry it from my cold, dead hands!

A friend in California coined the word, “Arcains” for the tiny, unlabeled icons on her Mac. I got a new phone last week, the concept still abides.

Been there, done that. Through perseverance, I got the phone up and running. I will be the one in charge, not my phone! But it is a struggle.
