    Saw in the Internet today, a photo of a car inside the DMV office!! Apparently the driver was taking a driving test and plowed right into the office!!!

    There are no longer bumpers on cars. Real bumpers prevented damage to bodywork. Were too heavy for current mileage expectations.

    True, the old bumpers were more like plows. And no air bags. Metal steering wheels and dash boards. Real messes for the rescuers.

    Those in the toon seem to have actual bumpers, like the olden days. There’s nothing protective about whatever it is that’s on the front and rear of cars today. Trucks seem to be the exception…
