One of the local cable networks used to have Star Trek evenings, reruns of all the different series. First, the original series, then STNG, then DS9, etc. It was like old friends, not requiring much attention while I could read. Then they switched to stupid — Roseanne, Raymond, etc. I switched off.
Sometimes it takes a kick in the ass to make better choices.
Betty reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket from “keeping up appearances”. She presents a false image, posturing to make herself look elite. I doubt when she and Bub were dating she was such a old maid.
