I have had 1 dog and 4 cats. I almost named the dog Hoover, I think you get the drift. The cats are for the most part good about accepting what is on offer but there are some foods I will never buy again.
We tricked our dog into thinking his plain kibble was the best treat ever. We’d put his bowl down, and if he didn’t eat, we’d pretend we were eating it, “Yummy, yummy, yummy, chomp chomp chomp.” and if he tried to get to the bowl we’d push him away and growl. After a minute, we’d get up and walk away. He would then eat his dinner.

Cats will find their own food before you give them something they don’t like.
