We’re keeping our son’s dog for a few weeks. He’s a border collie mix and constantly tries to herd our cat. The cat doesn’t like it. So far no bites or scratches, but it could happen.
I got two cats from the animal shelter. The one who was six-weeks younger simply assumed the older cat was his personal pillow. This idée fixe persisted into adulthood, long after it was no longer a practical arrangement. The older cat took it in good grace with only the occasional cat-flinging incident. :)
Saw a program about an animal facility in Africa (I think) that took in unwanted animals and had several fierce guard dogs that no one would adopt and also a monkey with damaged front legs (hands?) that couldn’t be released into the wild. The guard dogs were kept in a separate cage and the lonely monkey made it his mission to befriend them. He finally made friends with them by grooming them, picking off ticks, and became one of the gang.
Wow! Fleshy has saved Monty from disembowelment! Hero cat and trained anti-Monty dog get along famously and are napping until nosy Monty thinks he has to save Fleshy (is that irony, or what?) and lingers long enough to stir the sleeping dog. Isn’t there a saying about what you should do with sleeping dogs?…

Looks to me like Fleshy has Cujo pinned down. If he is smart, he will stay down.

Appearances may be deceiving. There does seem to be some sort of a truce right now.

I’ve heard that cats can hypnotize their prey with their tail . Sleep ……….. Sleep.

That looks tantric. Fleshy must be part Abissinian.

If Monty was correct in the last panel, wouldn’t Cujo be wagging his tail or smiling?

Cats disembowel, dogs bite off parts of you.

OK, ’fess up. How many people thot that altruist Monty was referring to Cujo when he exclaimed “What? We gotta go save him!”?
