Once again, April proves herself to be a marvel in physical dexterity for a girl only 22 months old. Looking at all the winding around the railings of the staircase along and the heights she achieves in the bedroom, I am not sure I would be able to do all that.
Be glad that dad isn’t into fly-tying. Lots and lots of different colored floss there. And sharp hooks and tools too. Also lots of small things for little kids to swallow.
This also happened. My son decided to see how far a spool of dental floss would go. He strung the stairwell and the hallway and even the kitchen before he ran out of floss. I would have been angry, but it’s hard to give serious discipline when you’re laughing!
Ha. I sort of got the same reaction when Dad gave my first spool of fishing line. It’s the first time I ever heard the words “trip wire”. …not the last
I am once again reminded of the second song on side one of the Ramones’ debut album. I’m not in your position. But I can’t say as I’d blame you, folks…..
I was going to say who their right mind would give a child as young as April a spool of dental floss. But, then I remembered who the parents are (and, dad’s profession) and that answered my question. I can’t imagine how she could even begin to use it correctly. Someone (probably Liz) would have to assist her in the process.
My siblings and I had great fun with cast-off skeins of yarn as kids. One of us would sit on a metal folding chair and get tied up, then you had to get out. My brother and I made a “fort” winding dark green yarn around tree trunks and a big ’ol berry bush.
And my mom has horror stories of my older siblings, when they were very little, discovering the joys of knotting anything vaguely string-like—such as ties and tights—with many, many knots.

She’d make a competent boy scout.

I don’t think there’s THAT much floss in one of those containers.

This reminds me of when I was a kid and our kite got away from us. There was kite string draped all over town.

This reminds me of what cats like to do with the toilet paper, when they’re not shredding it to pieces.

That’s what a house looks like after Spiderman practiced his webbing skill for the first time.

my kids loved to string things together ALL Over the House, you didn’t dare undo any of it (screams) until nighttime and they went to sleep.

I realize I’m reading syndicated repeats of a really great strip, but it is nice to see something I missed the first time around … :)

The Patterson family needs to do something novel — like watching the kid who is rapidly turning into a brat.

That must’ve been one long spool of dental floss!

The cartoons that focus on April really make me glad I don’t have kids. I do not have that kind of patience.

That strong tooth floss could be health hazard at times.
