@ Number Three Today’s strip IS funny Flo is always trying to find excuses for her hubby ,our HERO Mr Andrew Capp.s bad behavior but is failing , her scowl in the last frame is priceless :o) , my avatar again is a picture of my birth sign Leo roaring his head off because he’s in a good mood like I am ,how was your day? ours should be busy but we will cope I hope ,we both are in a good mood , Connie has gone to do the bulk shopping but no more errands to run , then we will stay inside the house keep hydrated because it’s cold outside , keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady
On New Year’s Eve, I remembered my 1974 children’s annuals and how I learned about new years and the dates of years from asking why they had 1974 on them. I also mentioned that that was Christmas 1973 and that 1974 was the coming year.
Since then, I have remembered a book I bought in the 1980s called The Children’s Annual. It contained a chapter called “Wham, Smash and Frankie Stein”. That chapter looked at the Fleetway annuals including Buster featuring the character who was originally billed as “Son of Andy Capp”. That billing was later revived in the late 1980s and early ‘90s. It also looked at the comics and annuals “Wham” and “Smash”. “Wham” lasted from 1964 to 1968 and “Smash” lasted from 1966 to 1971. The character of Frankie Stein first appeared in “Wham” and was later revived in “Shiver and Shake” for a strip which continued in “Whoopee!” and also featured in “Monster Fun” in "Frankie’s Diary" and a strip called “Freaky Frankie”. The “Freaky Frankie” strip would continue into “Buster and Monster Fun Comic”.
I think it’s unfortunate that “Frankie’s Diary” didn’t continue into “Buster and Monster Fun Comic” as well. The Buster strip at that time was called “Buster’s Diary” which lasted from 1974 to 1984 so we would have had “Buster’s Diary” and “Frankie’s Diary” in the same comic and this would have been an excellent tribute to the star of “Buster” and the star of “Monster Fun”.
Well I left the house today like I said I would. It’s been good and I am currently in the library until my time on the computer is up. There is a time limit for how long you can use the computer in libraries. I have 30 minutes left as of this comment.
Tomorrow I am at the hairdressers. I hate it when my fringe gets long. It starts curling up at the ends and that’s when I know it’s time for a cut. Oh and I am also getting it braided as well which is what I usually do. When the braids are in, my hair doesn’t get washed for a while. When I’ve been to the hairdressers, I am going for my weekly KFC and will probably visit the library again. Who knows? Not sure whether to go to bingo on Friday. See if I win any money for me and Gweedo to go on the razzle with (our little running joke) If I do decide to go, wish me luck!
Stay safe, stay well, stay warm and stay happy, pal.

It’s been a long time since Capp was beaten to a pulp—and then, it was Flo who administered the beating!!

Andy must really be out of shape – even hard to run down fat Stan.

It’s a continuation of the argument from Sunday when Fat Stan “pinched” Andy’s £20…

Brawling is how Andy stays in shape for football. It’s why he doesn’t have much of a beer gut. Well, that and swimming in the canal.

Flo’s right, he does the same thing on the footy team.

There’s trouble afoot on the footy team.

Not sure why Flo is angry at Doris in the last panel. Flo knows too well what her Andy is like!

Looks like Andy’s still mad that Fat Stan got the 20 pounds he wanted. That town ain’t big enough for two moochers!

It seems to me that the safest place for Stan to be would be next to the canal.

Can someone as scrawny as Andrew pin down someone as big as Stanley?
