That’s funny. My teachers and preachers in school and church always taught me that in the game of life, it is not whether you win or lose – but how you play the game.
Keep the faith Brutus. The meek shall inherit the Earth. The privileged, prestigious, and selfish like Veeblefester end up very badly. Not even a drop of water for their parched tongue.
Bill Gates really wanted to take his money with him when he died but he was told that you “can’t take it with you”. So, he went to the Pope and asked for his help. The Pope responded that you “can’t take it with you, no one can”. Bill said “surely you could grant a special dispensation for me”. “How about if I give a REALLY large donation to the church”?
The Pope finally agreed. However, “you can only take one suitcase”, which Bill quickly agreed to. Upon a lot of thought Bill decided to sell a bunch of his investments and buy gold which totally filled his suitcase.
Finally, one day Bill died and took his suitcase with him to heaven. Upon getting to the Pearly Gates Saint Peter tells him that he can’t bring anything with him to heaven. Bill, however, tells him about the Pope’s special dispensation. Peter replies, “well, ok, let’s see what you brought”. Bill opens the suitcase and the astonished Peter says “pavement!, you brought pavement!”.
If he is giving his all, he can’t really do much more. However, if there’s room for improvement, he needs to work with the boss on how to do his job better. However, he could also look for another company to work for, a competitor preferably. His just looking, might change the boss’s attitude….
Boss man is treating him a little like a son. He’s trying to mentor. Boss man might well have a very sad life story to tell. Brutus and his calm, accepting ways are probably worth a lot to the Boss.

I see the bosses money bags are back. We afraid he’d lost them a couple weeks ago.

Life is not a game; it is a collection of experiences. You can collect good ones or bad ones. The game ends the same.

WRONG, Veeblefester! In our society, everyone gets a participation certificate, a trophy, a ribbon……
