It’s one thing for me to take something I’ve created (usually a photograph) and, in consultation with my wife, decide it should be printed, framed and hung on a wall. Betty is up to something quite different, as she seems to be in sitcom mode (I’m think of Lucy in the I Love Lucy episode, “Lucy Becomes a Sculptress).” Loading up on art supplies and then diving in with no idea of what you’re doing is unlikely to make you an artist — nor are you likely to produce something you actually want to put on your wall.

She wasn’t wearing anything on her head before so why after she became “an artist”? It certainly doesn’t offer much protection against anything.
