It’s a close race between AB and Rob Manfred

AB did some of his best jerking in 2022. Otherwise, dJoke would be giving him a run for his money. We gotta look elsewhere.

Long shot for the award (AB is obviously a 2/5 favorite): Labron James concerning his condescending attitude to critics of the NBA’s China policy…..

In the defense of AB he was promised bonuses for his achievements , but they would not let him play so he " flipped his lid " , I feel sorry for him …sort of ?

I know Mr. Hinds already proclaimed executives ineligible, but Rob Manfred has no real competition for SJOY.

What do you call Sports Jerk of the Year and Antonio Brown? Redundant.

Could it be MLB for moving the All Star game?

Could it be MLB or the Players Association for the lockout? (Joint SJOY).

Aaron Rodgers should be in the running for “sports liar of the year” if not for the other one.

ALL the athletes who chose not to get vaccinated, putting their fellow athletes at risk. And hurting their team’s season. The Colts in particular.

I assume you are talking about the YEAR being 2021. Hence, that eliminates AB and The Joker. But put them on the shelf for 2022. It’s gotta be either Rodgers or Kyrie (What round earth) Irving I think.

The rule is a group can’t be nominated, but any individual can be nominated. So executives, owners etc are allowed. Bud Selig won it twice … Roger Goodell, Daniel Snyder and Lavar Ball each have a nameplate on the trophy.

I posthumously nominate Rube Waddell of the 1905 Philadelphia Athletics.

Enroute to the 1905 World Series on a train,he “playfully” tried to steal a teammates suitcase;fell down in the aisle and banged up his shoulder. With their ace out of the running, the A’s were shut out 3 times by Christy Mathewson of teh Giants.
