Actually, he was spreading seeds and saplings for the primary purpose of making cider.
I watched Mike Rowe’s series about whiskey and America. They said that hard apple cider was the reason for the apple trees. It was the most popular drink at the time because of the lack of refrigeration at the time.
Got an uncle that is possibly related to that very branch.. perfect match of the feet for sure.
