Many long intersecting branches on the human family tree. David, King Solomon, Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, etc. and my brother Nick, God bless him.
I’m skeptical. The 2003 research was on the male line. “1 in 200 Men Are Direct Descendants of Genghis Khan.” https://www.discovermagazine.com/the-sciences/1-in-200-men-direct-descendants-of-genghis-khan
Read further to find that they are using the Y chromosome to make this claim. Why is it that a man with Khan’s Y must be Khan’s descendant? Every son of Khan’s father has that gene. Every son of his father’s father. Every son of his father’s father’s father. And so on. How do they know that the millions of people with Khan’s Y aren’t majority descended from Khan’s second and third cousins?
This explains a lot, but still doesn’t address my question about Khan’s male relatives.https://bumpreveal.com/blogs/statistics/genghis-khan-dna-descendants
