I love public transportation. I don’t take it anymore, but anything that takes the cars in front of me off the road is a good thing.

Besides the tumbling bumpy ride, it’s limited to (at the mercy of) the direction of the wind.

Our bus system used to be a great 24/7 service. I could pick up and drop off near me and move from one end of the city to the other, all on one bus. Now, you have to walk much farther to pickup and drop off and have to change buses in midtown. And the midtown drop off is blocks away from the main store section. Before, buses went down Main Street so you could get off, or pick up, at the very corner of your destination. Ah, those were the days.

I used to ride the bus pretty much everywhere. Oddly enough, it went everywhere I wanted to go. (or I had to walk there. shudder)

Didn’t think of the bugs when driving on a flat as a pancake Texas Panhandle highway dodging a tumbleweed stampede during a wind storm.

    Tumbling tumble weed….

I’m a roaming cowboy riding all day long,Tumbleweeds around me sing their lonely song.Nights underneath the prairie moon,I ride along and sing this tune.

See them tumbling downPledging their love to the groundLonely but free I’ll be foundDrifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.

Cares of the past are behindNowhere to go but I’ll findJust where the trail will windDrifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.

I know when night has goneThat a new world’s born at dawn.

I’ll keep rolling alongDeep in my heart is a songHere on the range I belongDrifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds.

    Thanks Willie….
