Now, by the strip from two day ago, Bessie had left the mountains 20 years prior, and, according to Pansy, “hain’t heerd fum ’er since.” But Bessie does know about Li’l Abner. So he must have been a baby when she left; there’s no indication she learned of his existence after she left. So, that put Abner at about 21 years old. I always thought Li’l Abner was younger than that.
