I remember when Denver International Airport was about ready to open to replace Stapleton Airport. It was suddenly delayed a 16 months because they had tried to design a new baggage handling system and had badly underestimated the difficulty. Just before they opened, they proudly did a public test of the system and it failed miserably with lost and damaged luggage. They had to go back to the drawing board.
Getting on a plane, I told the ticket lady, ‘Send one of my bags to New York, one to Los Angeles, and one to Miami.’ She said, ’I’m sorry sir but we can’t do that!’ I told her, ‘Why not? You did it last week!’
When I was in middle school, I made a free-hand model of the Wright Flyer from balsa wood. When I was bringing it home from school, a random kid in the hallway smashed it out of my hands. I was able to fix it…somewhat…and it had already been graded, but I don’t think I’ll ever forget just how heartbroken I was. Why are adolescent boys so mean?! :P

How about the first passenger booted off a flight for being rude to the flight attendant? When was that?

I’m impressed that they had cameras & film that could catch a bright, razor sharp image of a moving object in 1903.

Orville Wright invented an airplane before he invented a bread slicer. So, what was the airplane the greatest thing since?

Reminiscent of a great Henny Youngman joke:
Getting on a plane, I told the ticket lady, ‘Send one of my bags to New York, one to Los Angeles, and one to Miami.’ She said, ’I’m sorry sir but we can’t do that!’ I told her, ‘Why not? You did it last week!’
