It’s a tough winter, to be sure. Where I live (DC), we’re having the coldest January in years and the rise in Omicron cases hasn’t helped! But here in the Northeast, cases are dropping steadily and they’re starting to drop in the Midwest as well (and have dropped nationally by 1%, not much but an improvement nonetheless. Experts are expecting the drop in cases to increase as cases drop in the Western US. And the death rate to start dropping again sooner rather than later. The death rate always lags a few weeks behind the case rate. So, if we continue to protect ourselves during the rest of this winter, we should be OK.
