I helped my Dad, it’s interesting…in a way. That and many many fish. Albacore was the best, they like to eat shing things. Most always found a few coins. BTW I was a teen when this was happening, big hit with the boys. I’m female.
I’ve mentioned before that Local Grandson bags one deer a season. He loathes field dressing them, but somehow forgets from one year to the next how awful it is. “So, I go out and do it again. Boy, am I dumb.”
Remember ‘green tripe’, partially digested weeds for dogs? Having seen the remains of many field dressed deer and elk, post-coyote feast, I can say coyotes have a very low opinion of ‘green tripe’.
I always found hunting to be another way of going to the market. Its more work but you get one hell of a discount. I lived within a few miles of where I hunted so gas and ammo were my only expenses. BTW Betty where do you think the moose came from? died from old age in an old moose home, road kill?
Haven’t these idiots ever been to the meat section of their supermarket?!? They seem to have no idea of just where MEAT comes from!!!! People meat is not born cut up and wrapped for your perusal. It’s dead animals. Treat it with the respect it is due. It died to provide you with food!
In training we saw a lot of graphic crime scene and accident photographs. Some made me nauseous. That worried me, until I found out that the real thing didn’t bother me. Looking at blood and gore in a photo, when you don’t have anything else to do, is a lot different than being there, with a job to do.

One of my brothers was present when my Dad ‘cleaned’ a rabbit. It was pregnant and my brother lost his lunch.

I’ll never unserstans how people kill living, thinkig animals for “sport”. The same people who have no empathy when a person is killed.

Back when I hunted, a popular expression was “happiness is a large gut pile”…

The videos never capture how painfully cold your hands get. Remember, field dressing a deer is done in the woods during late fall/winter.

You think that’s something, you should see someone getting beheaded with a long knife.
