Rugby! The season just started for MLR in the United States, that’s a pretty good substitute! (Go Seawolves!)

Andy Rooney said that the end of football season is comparable to a death in the family. I used to feel that way myself but now it is no big deal to me. The game has gotten too big and greedy for its own good. What used to be a sport has now become a mega-million dollar business strictly for the benefit of the owners and overpaid players. When the dust …. or confetti …. settles, what actual difference does it make which of the 32 teams ends up hoisting the trophy in February? They will start over again next September… and the following…. ad nauseum. If you want to enjoy what football is supposed to be, go watch your local high school games where the kids play for the love of the sport, and a hot dog won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

I know how he feels. Fortunately I haven’t got that stage yet, but I’m not a one sport fan. Buck up dude, the USFL will be starting soon.
