That explains cats suddenly freaking out and getting the zoomies. Also explains why some are so tense and alert. They can probably HEAR the ghosts too. Dogs have the innocence of a 3-year-old child and therefore are not smart enough to be afraid.
Our Doxie would suddenly stare at ….nothing. and yes we had a ghost, husband and I saw him. And the whole family heard a huge crash upstairs. Ran up, couldn’t find anything that could have caused it.
The former owner of our home had a pet cemetary somewhere in the back. When the moon is full I swear I see ghost dogs and cats out of the corner of my eye.
The dogs don’t seem to be bothered though, so either they are very friendly ghost pets that the boys don’t seem to mind, OR Mummy has lost the plot!

I was at a friend’s house watching TV with him, when the chandelier moved by itself up to about a 45 degree angle, stayed there for a few seconds, then returned to normal. My friend explained that he and his family believe that their house is “haunted” by his dead father. They would sometimes also hear piano music (his father played the piano) and other unexplainable occurrences. Now, he and his brother were the type that would play pranks, but they never did a “gotcha” on this one or another one that happened when I was over there. We were playing badminton in the yard when their dog set up a barking frenzy inside the house. We tried to get in, but both doors were locked (we didn’t lock them). A few minutes later, the dog stopped and the door opened right up. Now, this could easily have been his brother, although he wasn’t supposed to be home, but again, no “gotcha”…
Strange , yesterday I took my 4 dogs for a walk in the fields. I kept losing sight of one or the other and had to call them back. Every now and then I would start to call back a missing dog when they were all there. It was like my mind was looking for a fifth dog. We ended the walk in the goat pasture, where our dog cemetery is. My old collie sat at the the newest grave while I put the goats up, then I had a hard time getting him to leave. He was sitting at the grave of a puppy named Indy he had raised then lost at five almost a year ago. First time he has done that. Makes me wonder if Indy was with us on the walk.
