My strategy is to just stay alone and isolated. They will forget the good times and my passing will just be another day.

The kindest thing you can do is to do the dying part soon.

I ran into that guy, and it was just yesterday.

When we buried my father we just told the preacher “Make something up”

I’m leaving instructions that I be cremated and my ashed mixed with asphalt and made into a speed bump on a busy street.

Time sure passes quickly, seems like a short time ago I stood on my bed thinking “Wow, someday I will be THIS TALL” Actually it was quite a while back.

I have made it known to my wife on multiple occasions that, when my time comes, I do not want there to be a wake with an open casket. I do not want anyone’s last image of me to be in that box. Keep it closed and put pictures from my past on and around it. Optimally, I would prefer a quick, green burial and forgo all that costly business. Though I understand that these things are also for family and friends to come together, grieve, remember and serve as way of closing a chapter and moving on.

Maybe a national holiday!

That is a position, not a good one, but a position nonetheless…..

Well, at least I now have a reason for being the way I am, although I suspect the logic of the gentleman’s reasoning is incorrect – if he IS a “jerk” why would he want to make anyone feel great for any reason?

I think I’ll post this on my birthday.
