Love the way some of the Spuds are looking at the Spud they’re responding to. It took me a minute to see the order by following the connections between the Spuds. And he calls himself “Gents,” plural. Is this a trip through Spud’s emotions or a view of his selves, if there’s a difference? And this is getting way too deep for me at 4 am—yikes, 5 am.
There were some big caves around the Mississippi in the Twin Cities area. A few of them were bought up and turned into mushroom farms. Pizzas have mushrooms, Spud. Mushr-o-o-m-s…
We live in sink hole country. Deep ones, everywhere, and all connected with hundreds of tunnel passages. Pools, lakes, even rivers down there. It gets crazy when it rains. We have a well sunk into all this and when it rains everything gets all stirred up.
My vote? Don’t check it out unless you tell someone where you are going. And you’ll need more pizza than that.
I love this comic.I love the look inside Spud’s brain.I love that Wallace knows him—it’s a beautiful thing to be known by a friend.I love that the seagull knows what’s coming and wants a piece of that.I love that Spud has an incredible crush on Amelia and also KNOWS HER (she’s likely to attack).I love that Spud has a blind spot for his friend (because Wallace has DEFINITELY steered him wrong before)…I love this.

No known caves around my area. My only experience with caves was in D&D. Found nasty things in there. And lotsa gold and goodies.

Yep, there’s nothin` like cold pizza in a damp cave. Eat it before the tide comes in!

Looks like a ‘get out before the tide comes in’ type cave.

Wallace does know his best friend, a little pizza incentive goes a long way with Spud! Most excellent!

To catch the right fish, you have to have the appropriate bait!

The cave may not hold any monetary treasure, but you can’t beat pizza and an adventure with a friend. Best treasures on Earth…

This is a fun way to visualize the different sides to a character =)Also, DO NOT TRUST the pizza, Spud! The slice is a lie!
