My nephew was tongue tied and after the surgery to clip his tongue (a mini version of the surgery Gene Simmons had), he was given exercises by the speech therapist to “find” his Ls and Rs. They didn’t work so I started working with him and would give him a lollipop if he said the word with the Ls… one day he got frustrated, yelled, “SUCKER” and snatched it out of my hand LOL. We used the word rutabaga for the Rs because he thought it was a funny word. Worked like a charm!

My dog is named Lenny but my son calls him Wenny. And when he says “think” he pronounces it “hing” lol
