They will seldom “moo” on cue for just anyone.

My milk cow, Katy Kow, can make that same face as in panel 3, when her royal highness is displeased! (Though she’s a mini-Jersey, not a Holstein-type.)
I’ve heard moo from milk cows but lately I heard a beef cow low. It is a distinction you can hear if you listen for it
