Spud already needed a life time of therapy before this. To top it all off, there is seagull sitting in the window staring at the giant crouton of a head just laying there.
I dont comment often on any if the 54 comics I read a day, but I gotta say, I am loving the expressive artwork in the recent comics. New perspectives, like looking at spud from the side, awesome, love it. And the humor is always bringing me back, the wonder and trill that Wallace brings to his world. Keep it up! And thanks!
Walkie Talkies weren’t much good for that. They’d run the battery down in no time and you’d have till wait till next month to get another on your Radio Shack Battery a Month card.
It speaks of what kind of experiences Spud has had so far in his life that his response is more of suspicious confusion than outright terror from the get-go.

Sterling: "Oops, wrong number. Nevermind. You’re on my “slips in the shower” list. I wanted the “dies in the back shed” list."

I don’t have a Walkie-Talkie nearby but I hate getting those calls on the phone… didn’t know Sterling was a real person.

OMG! It was only a matter of time before Sterling started to work on Spud’s fears. Sterling is seriously scary.

No wonder Spud is afraid of everything. He’s been haunted all this time by Sterling.

Spud, just tell yourself….
“When the Dark comes rising six shall turn it back;
Three from the circle, three from the track;
Wood, bronze, iron; Water, fire, stone;
Five will return and one go alone.”

Somehow he’s topped wanting to set the couch on fire in terms of being deeply unsettling… only took him.. a few weeks most?

I can easily imagine Boris Karloff voicing Sterling, if that were possible.
