“Egg pocking is a game and Cajun tradition that takes place on Easter Sunday where two people compete against one another to see who has the strongest Easter egg.

“The objective of the game is to take two hardboiled eggs (one egg per player) and lightly tap your opponent’s egg without your egg cracking. The loser of each round is the person whose egg cracks. This continues until there’s one person remaining whose egg has no cracks on it.

“The player that wins the competition is said to have good luck in the coming year.”

My brother in-law raises chickens. One time we got eggs from him and the egg shells were paper thin, had to be very careful with them. HE said he needed to have more calcium in their food. I assume extra calcium would make a extra stronger shell. So you could win that Egg pocking game by getting eggs from somebody who fed their chickens more calcium.

I’ve never heard of mom’s contest. Don’t you want to break it?

Peter’s Hollow Egg Fight has been going on in northeast Tennessee (Carter county) since Easter of 1820. High calcium diet, lots of exercise, and boiling the eggs butt up (so the air cushion moves to the big end) are the secrets to strong tapping eggs. The winner has to eat the contents of the winning egg.

Yesterday I posted on chocolate, someone asked me on white, my answer is yes as there is chocolate in that though white, I leave along and not take chances. Now for today’s strip is that egg hard boiled egg that been colored, I hope not raw.
