Pancake Day in the UK is on Shrove Tuesday so this cartoon would have been published in the Daily Mail on that day. Today’s Andy Capp strip on Go Comics is the same as in the Daily Mirror and is set on Saint Patrick’s Day. It is amusing that a Pancake Day strip from the Daily Mail is being published on Go Comics on Saint Patrick’s Day. Shrove Tuesday was over two weeks ago as it coincided with Saint David’s Day this year.

Pancakes and crepes – so versatile; so many delicious possibilities!

Here in the Midwest we call a pancake wrapped around a sausage “Pigs in a Blanket”. I like mine with maple syrup and a side of scrambled eggs.

I thought Shrove Tuesday was 2 weeks ago. now it is 2 weeks into Lent!!!!
