That would be me. A three-year-old in the body of a 73-year-old.
I am looking at the refrigerator magnet my sister gave me. It reflects the T-shirt she also bought me. It reads, “Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.”
I believe, as others have stated, “We do not stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.”
I hope to continue getting older for at least a couple more decades, but I will never be old.
My wife tells other people that I am not in my second childhood; I never got out of my first. The advantage to this is that I never had my midlife crisis. The red sports car remains unbought.

I’m guessing the left hand is closer to us and she’s ready to “fire” that slingshot.

Many times the second childhood was brought on by Alzheimer’s, or other forms of mental degeneration.
