I filled in at our new church while the Bishop was on the hunt for a full time priest. In ours sermons were supposed to reference OT, NT, Gospel and a current theme. I’d spend all week then Saturday afternoon push delete and start from scratch. Those always worked better. Took a while to get over the lady in the last pew who would knit during the service. click-click-click
I had that once. I used a passage that I had not intended to use, and it meant something to a person who came only once. No idea who he was but I guess it was the right word at the right time.
