Putin thought that Ukrainians were pining away for the good old days under the Soviet Union. Unfortunately for him, the population has a sharper memory for events like the Holodomor.
Americans say 86 – 6 percent that Russia is not justified in making the claim that Ukraine should be reclaimed by Russia and no longer be a sovereign territory.
“By a large majority, Vladimir Putin is deeply disliked, his justification for attacking Ukraine is rejected and nearly half of Americans consider him mentally unstable,”
Look: Putin has so MUCH blood on his hands already that the schools and hospitals his minions are bombing and strafing are—so far at least—only a tiny fraction of his lifetime total. (Obviously, his attacking civilians is contemptible—as is his illegal invasion itself—but it is perfectly in his lack-of-character.) He helped his fellow dictator and war criminal, Assad, massacre more than half a million Syrian civilians. Let’s say that Putin’s share of the slaughter was only 10% (no knowledgeable observer thinks it is that low). In other words, even before his illegal invasion of Ukraine, Putin was responsible for more than 50,000 murders. Anybody who can praise Putin is, quite simply, sick—and, of course, a traitor.
Are the russian troops sleeping and eating in their vehicles? Are the convoys supply lines in the Ukraine vulnerable? What can be done to make each day more miserable than the last, for them?
It reminds me of the company picnic where everyone brought “potato salad” and everyone forgot the plates.
The arial photos of the advancing Russian forces show lots and lots of tanks and personnel carriers, but where are the tanker trucks with the diesel fuel? Oh. You thought that “Ivan” was bringing it. I see.
Then there was the (former SSR) Georgian tanker that was accosted by a Russian ship begging to refuel, and the tanker captain replied “you’ve got oars, you can row.”
I wonder if Putin will follow Stalin’s example and give more stupid orders. Stalin had given orders that Soviet troops never retreat, under any circumstances. The Soviet troops retreated anyway, which drew the Nazis into following them, where they ran into Russian winter. That is what defeated the Nazis in Russia.
Military experts on the news have commented that the Russians appeared to lack planning, training, and discipline within the first units entering Ukraine. The second wave doesn’t look much better. Being lined up bumper to bumper like rush hour traffic, I hope they become a shooting gallery for the Ukrainians.
Someone’s coming all right, with all three of your wishes. Their intelligent strategy is to fill a vodka bottle with diesel fuel, add a wick, then light it and toss to the closest Russian soldiers. Enjoy!

Putin thought the invasion would be successful in a couple of days and didn’t bring extra.

In every WW II movie, real and fiction, a fighter plane strafes a convoy like that.
