My cat knows where the vacuum cleaner resides. If I open that closet door, the cat is on instant alert and is prepared to run wherever the vacuum isn’t.
My previous dog wold bark and bite at the vacuum when it was running. She thought it was just a big, noisy toy. My current dog nearly has a panic attack whenever it is brought out. It doesn’t even have to be turned on, just sitting in the middle of the floor. It may be the loud noise it makes. She hates anything above a normal talking range.

I just have to tell my dog I’m going to vacuum, and she’s at the door to go out.

I read it wrong the first time and it would’ve worked as a nightmare: I was chasing the rabbit and then she turns into a vacuum cleaner!
