I can relate. When I was about 15 or 16 and playing Legion ball. It was a meaningless game and my coach thought, hoped, I could be a pitcher. Harry Doyle would have passed out by the time the coach took me out. I made Ricky Vaughn, Wild Thing, look like a control pitcher. “Just a bit outside” would have meant that I didn’t throw it out of the baseball park.
