    I still remember the first time I read “Maus”. I was about thirteen and then I had nightmares for months because that was the real horror. Something that had happened and can still happen, of which my grandparents had been accomplices and too many of my relatives denied the existence (or regretted it had not been finished). I’m not so sure it’s a good idea to let Dre read it now. But he has to read it.

    I have never chosen a book because of the race of the authour. I’ve read books by people from all different cultures and places and I’m more interested in the story and characterization than the pigment of the authour’s skin. Have i been reading books wrong my entire life?
