Even places like Oregon, where you can’t pump your own gas, they just come out and pump the gas and take your money ~ nothing extra. (I think it is still that way ~ haven’t been there for a couple of years)

During one gas shortage years ago, people lined up to get Gulf gas. Three blocks away, no line and free glasses with a fill-up at Shell. Who knows.

We had a full service pump at a station near us up until a few years ago. It was in the Snob Neighborhood. Even that’s gone now.
