I hate plumbing, and plumbing hates me.

I love old houses, and I’m not rich, so there are things I have learned to do, and I enjoy carpentry, glazing, electrical work, roofing, plastering, drywall, painting – but plumbing is sheer hell.

It was good for Gen. Sherman.

I was at a conference in Atlanta and the speaker mentioned that there many streets named Peachtree in the city. I asked how many were named Sherman? He really didn’t like it when I mused that I-20 should be named Sherman expressway because it heads unimpeded towards the sea.

I’ve remodeled two of my bathrooms and the kitchen. I get along well with plumbing.
