I stand with Mr Lux and Ukraine.

We stand with Ukraine. We are willing to publicize their agony but … we stand with them from a cozy distance.

We stood by when Russia took Crimea. It wasn’t a lot of help.

It reminds me of the famous Martin Niemöller quotation (applied to countries rather than groups)

“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

If I were forty years younger, and in good health, I’d be on my way there a week ago.
