I used to golf at a course where on one hole you had to cross the road between holes and walk backward about 80 yards to get to the next tee, then play back up the fairway to play the hole. People always left their bags at the crossing point and pick them up after teeing off, until the day a foursome did that and saw from the tee a beat-up pickup truck stop and grab all four sets of clubs and take off down the road at high speed.
