Fabulous idea. My high school (private school ) had gorgeously landscaped grounds and we often had classes out in the gardens. Allergies aside, it was pretty nice.
I remember being “guest reader” for both of my daughters’ Kindergarten classes. Actually, I was considered “Class Mom”, but would once in a while be the one to read to them during that part of class. My favorite was sharing MY favorite childhood book with them: Hubert’s Hair-Raising Adventure. The kids really enjoyed it; some of them still remember me fondly, and they’re now around 17 and 19 years old.
Can you imagine a pre-school (or it this 1st grade) actually allowing that in this day and age of over-protection and fear of lawsuits?
I do remember climbing in and playing around a giant cottonwood when I was in 3rd & 4th grades. Tree was so big our entire class holding hands couldn’t encircle its trunk.

Kids in the tree are symbolic. It’s all about love and warmth – plein air story time with Meemaw.

How neat to have Meemaw read while the kids are sitting in a tree.

As if they could ever NOT give Mee Maw their full attention. I mean, I know they’re little kids, but this is Mee Maw we’re talking about.

This is sheer fun. Pity the city children not able to do outdoor activities, moreso in the days of cellphones and other screens.
