My dog would eat that if I didn’t watch her carefully and always have her outside only on a leash. I pulled a mouse out of her mouth once by the tail – I had no idea what she had. Ick! A hawk had already removed the insides, so it fit in her throat. Luckily that has not been repeated, although getting that out is easier than digging for needle-like bones that can kill her. Yes, I try very hard. So does she.
Dogs should be so discriminating. They also lick their butts and eat really questionable debris from the yard. I don’t think they’re going to wonder if canned food has some “beef by-products”.
We had a friend whose dog would kill and eat gophers. One of the neighbors had fed the gophers poison, and then when the dog ate it, they were also poisoned.

Depends on what it ate last. Rat poison, maybe?

A lot of raptors (Owls, Hawks, Falcons, etc.) die from poisoned rodents.
