That’s the hole thing?

It started as wack a mole.

I filled a 90 gallon yard waste bin today with nothing but twigs and small branches.

Look at the joy in Arlo’s face, to finally break out the gardening hardware. JJ must love his backyard.

Spring?

I’m not out of hibernation yet. I haven’t put away the snow shovels. I don’t want to tempt fate.

No shadow, they should go back to bed for more hibernation.

I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in… ( Kenny Rogers and the First Edition )

Not sure I get it. Is it spring yard work time for them?

Thank goodness there was no one there that had a really big hammer.

It’s still cold here today but we’re getting there.

We had one unseasonably warm day back in late March. Worked outside all day. Now, I feel like I’m all over it for the season.

Yesterday we filled about 20 new containers with potting soil, added compost to a similar number of older containers and planned to transplant vegetable plants today: it railed all night, it’s cold and rainy now, with more cold and rain in the forecast … for the next week.

As Captain Ahab would say it: “He breaches!” ☺

I don’t get it

I don’t like gardening either, but it comes with the territory….

Days like today are exactly why (though surely not the worst example), while A&J had the potential to challenge as GOAT comic, JJ was determined to be sure it never would.

Escape from Alcatraz.

I had to turn the heat on this morning it was so cold. I live in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. This is NOT a normal April or spring. Wet and cold. Supposed to be our dry season but the lakes and rivers are full – if we get tropical weather this summer, there will be no place for the water to go – full ponds and lakes means the groundwater is already full as well.

Whereas, those of us in the desert are digging our holes to wait out the summer…
