Used to be a tenet of Libertarianism that we should avoid overseas military. They would cede Europe to Putin and Asia to Xi. This is one of my primary reasons for ignoring them. Add in the desire for “hard” currency, and fewer social programs and I am out. But I do like their philosophy on things I do to my own body should be my own decision.
How about a “Librarian” Party? There would be better organization, strict fiscal responsibility, few if any noisy confrontations, and a lot less hanky-panky!
With almost any political party, you have the crazy stuff, and the other things that makes absolute sense (at least to you). The trick is to try and pick the best of the bunch, find the people who espouse the policies that make you the most comfortable and hope for the best.
Bad news, Carmen, to where do you think all the Q-Anoners and robby hood will eventually return, once this country cycles back to a little more normal?:
50 years…FIFTY YEARS…and what do they have to show for it?

324 elected officials, nationwide. With the exception of ONE State House Rep in Wyoming they are all at the “local” level. City, County, school boards, sanitation districts, etc.
50 years without ever learning the most basic lesson. The State and national arenas are unattainable without deep grass roots support. That support will never come. The Libertarian platform is usually more than 50%-60% abhorrent to the vast majority of voters.
Most people find a few things in the platform they agree with and support, but view the rest as an absolute non-starter. A little bit of everything for everyone mixed with a huge wad of undigestible crap.

Not true. Dissolving ALL government would be silly.
Libertarians only want to dissolve the parts that are paid for by tax money.
After all, NO ONE should ever be taxed. Ever.
Especially not billionaire oligarchs.

I bet it would be interesting to see a government full of Libertarians, they would always be fighting over who should be paid to do their jobs.

Say, here’s an idea. Come up with a platform, and tell people what you stand for and why…..crazy I know.
