Babies are not a problem, it is the toddlers. I had a Siamese that sat by the crib when a friend with an infant came to visit. When the infant cried, the Siamese came to get us.
My two boys love to have company come but I must admit I can’t remember the last time a baby or toddler was involved. I’m sure they would give him/her a polite sniff and that would be that.
True story, when I was a child, I was reading a Bible passage from the story of Elijah. I went to my father, a pastor, and asked him, “How did Elijah gird up his lions?” After Dad got through laughing, he explained to me that I had made a slight misreading.
One of mine let the toddler chase him until he was tired of the game. Then cat would turn around and firmly bite the kid’s diaper. Never got close, but the sound of the plastic breaking backed the kid off. Then I wu\ould need to change said diaper because toddler left a pantload in alarm.
I had a friend over who had 4 obnoxious rough and grabby boys. When they left I called out to the cats they had gone and the cats all came out of hiding. This was a very long time ago.

I love the idea of including the cats in a family meeting.
I trust they have voting rights?

Nice to prepare the family for what is coming up. Hard to say how the cats will react to a baby.
