My son’s rock band needs a new name. I’m going to suggest, “A pint of plain is your only man.” Maybe I should wait until they’re drinking age.

I get the sarcasm, but I don’t understand what the oft-repeated phrase means.

It means that oftentimes alcohol is your only friend.

hey Bill shorten it to “a pint of plain” or it will be too long to fit on a marquee.

Sadly the coach who caused the problem gets away scott free while the atheletes pay for the wrong doing entirely. Whatever penalties that are levied on a school for wrong doing should also be applied to the school the “wayward” coach jumps ship to. That would cut down on the immediate hiring of a person who gets caught breaking the rules.

Back off topic for just a second– The band at their first paying gig.

Very funny at the beginning when the lead guitarist can’t find the drummer (my son) through the FX smoke.

Indeed. And the sound is exactly what one would expect from a band (originally) named Distorshun. :) A Pint of Plain just might work better.

It is soooooooo tempting to send a link back at you from my one-man project, Earthlight Orchestra, but I shall refrain. Its New Age electronica might cause your pint of plain to go down the wrong pipe. ;)
