My mom was such a good cook that we seldom had anything left over.

There’s nothing better then a slice (or three) of cold leftover pizza on Monday morning – for breakfast!!!

I wouldn’t eat there unless they served TV Dinners.

I love restaurants that specialize in serving leftovers. My only gripe is that they keep on insisting on washing the forks and spoons. A truly leftover dinner really should include yesterday’s dirty forks and spoons from the previous customer to be really authentic.

Dad used to stodge leftovers together into some pretty tasty breakfasts. I guess he was an artful stodger.

My wife cooked meatloaf yesterday. We’ll probably finish it Tuesday or Wednesday. I like leftovers. No cooking.

We seldom had leftovers at home. Holidays and company. And there was no talking during eating. Just lip smacking good chow downing.

One of my specialties is making 2 more meals from the restaurant “doggy bag”. Soup is the best way to do it or stir-fry.

In defense of mother’s leftovers, there are foods that taste better when leftover. Some foods, like turkey, acquire much more rich flavor when allowed to sit in the fridge for a day or two.

A lot of meals DO taste better the second time around. Give it a shot…..

When I as a kid, we had left overs at least once a week.

I actually thought of starting a Mom’s restaurant, but I was going to specialize in comfort foods like Macaroni & Cheese, Meatloaf, PB&J sandwiches, etc. etc.

They are not leftovers if you didn’t have them the first time around.

A food manufacturing wanted to start a line of canned leftovers. But they could never figure out where the leftovers would come from.

I never learned how to ‘cook for one,’ so there are often leftovers, either in the fridge or freezer. Supper tonight is leftover roast beef and veggies. There may be just enough meat and gravy left to make a hot beef sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

Ah, Mom’s cooking and leftovers — a rich source of humor and debate. Two of my favorites:

    (1) In an episode of I Love Lucy, Ricky (Desi Arnaz) is making fun of married life, and he tells a friend, “Your wife is always serving leftovers — but you never get to eat the meal the leftovers are left over from.”

    (2) Classic Dave Berg Lighter Side from Mad Magazine: The new bride asks her husband how he likes the dinner. He says, “It’s not like my mother’s.” She lays into him for that, and he replies, “All I said was, it’s not like my mother’s.” Then comes the punchline, as he tells her, “My mother was a lousy cook.”
