The decline of western civilization

I’d be leaning towards an incliner.

We finally convinced my father to get a lift-chair (well, purchased without his knowledge and had it mysteriously arrive one day) that helps him stand up. Before that, getting up was just too difficult, so he spent most of the time lying down or sitting in his recliner. A sure recipe for atrophy. He’s stubborn, but after having it for a couple of weeks, he really loves being able to get up when he wants without help — and he’s moving around much more. So his new chair is definitely not a decliner.

Get one with the optional Hot Toddy warmer in the arm rest.

Years ago I bought a recliner to watch TV. Later I complained to the sales lady it didn’t work out. I kept falling asleep.

Dad would sit in his recliner while I played the piano. After almost drowning me out with his snoring, he would tell me how much he enjoyed my playing.

That’s what Retirement is…

Forget the chair, it’s my TV that should go. Just don’t tell my spouse, she thinks so too.

I bet it’s the credit department that’s the real decliner…

Nice try, but sitting in front of TV all day was the plan.

“What the hell do you think I want a comfortable chair for? This is what I’m planning on doing in it!”
