Don’t know if you need a license to drive a tractor, Agnes. Another possible shortcoming.

you need math to be a dirt farmer, speaking from bitter experience (bitter not because i’m a farmer, but because i’m terrible at math)…

Skills you need to be a farmer: botanist, zoologist, chemist, meteorologist, veterinarian, mechanic, and accountant. An MBA would be useful as well.

This definitely warrants an office visit to the school counselor, not the principal.

When I lived further out in the country than I do now, being called a “dirt farmer” was a big-time insult.

Agnes needs to watch Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon to see how much Jeremy hates doing paperwork.

I know a few farmers. They tell me that if you want to become a farmer you either have to inherit the land or marry into the land.

Agnes needs some farm training , as an Ag Teacher I will gladly accept her in my FFA chapter and Farm/Lab when she reaches Middle School, Trout is also invited. I am eager to be part of such a unique teaching experience.

I’m impressed that she has some idea of what a farmer needs, as she lists in panel two. I wouldn’t have been surprised if she assumed that “a simple dirt farmer” raises a simple crop: dirt.
