Jesus wasn’t/isn’t afraid of anyone. We are to respect civil authorities (uncivil authorities, too), but we don’t kowtow.
Meanwhile, religious political factions in the US are largely an urban legend, There have been attempts, but if we can’t reconcile our doctrinal statements, we certainly won’t unify politically.
