I was in first grade when, on a Friday afternoon, our (elderly) teacher made a comment: “I hope none of you will be FOOLISH enough to watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan this weekend”. I remember thinking, “Beetles? Something cool on Ed Sullivan about insects?” – I was intrigued. Besides, I always watched Ed Sullivan with my parents on Sunday nights. That was the night I fell in love with Paul McCartney. Yeah, at 6 years old.

My parents always watched Ed Sullivan, so, I had a front row seat to the Beatles debut in the USA. Paul McCartney took my breath away.

When I was young, I cared a lot about beetles, not so much Beatles. When I got older, I recognized their musical talent and breadth of expression.
