@Number Three I suppose today’s strip is funny but I didn’t get the joke :o{ my avatar is a picture of how some men percieve themselves to be as handsome as Brad Pitt when in reality they look as goofy as Mr Bean , when I look in a mirror I am surprised to see a 77 yr old man looking at me :o) how was your day, our Finally Friday should be quite calm, we both are in a good mood , no shopping or errands to run , just stay inside the house until this evening when I will have my fav nosh , keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady
He’s still walking? The locals need to put him on a train to heck! Here’s that song by the Kinks again; yes, I know I posted it a few days ago, bit it’s appropriate! (… and this is an amazing version! Enjoy!!!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA5e_Q45f04
Andy and Chalkie reacted much the same as my grandfather did when he found out a “moderate income” housing project was being built across the street. He knew he wasn’t high income; but never thought of himself as “moderate”. The project took away a field that the neighborhood used to play baseball on.
Today’s strip reminds me of a pub called “The Headless Woman” which used to be in the village of Duddon. The pub closed down and was demolished to make a block of flats some years ago. I remember being interested in its name when I was driven past it as a kid. I had a drink there in 2011 before it closed down.
“The Headless Woman” was named after a legendary headless ghost who is said to haunt the area. There are reports of the ghost being seen in other villages to the east of my town of Chester. These villages include Peckforton and Tattenhall.
I must admit, this one’s justified, Andy. They’ve ruined/are ruining too many great old pubs in the name of redevelopment. Oxford’s The Eagle and Child being the real world example that springs to mind.
What once was our downtown shopping area is being overrun with pubs, restaurants, apartment & condo buildings. It’s now touted as the “entertainment district.” The new residents complain that there is no place to shop or get groceries.
They are currently in the process of building houses on the lovely green field around the corner from me. There was already a small park for the kids that didn’t take up much space. Now we have to walk the other way which takes a bit longer. Estimated to take around 2 years.
Basically the guy is still planning to turn Andy’s beloved pub into luxury houses but assured Andy that it wouldn’t be expensive apartments. The luxury houses doesn’t make it any better! The pub will no longer be a pub no matter what he builds.
Well, I’m off to the big city tomorrow to attend that market and then will be going into the shopping centre afterwards. Hope the weather is good. I stayed in today.
Enjoy your favourite nosh today, pal. I’m having mine too.
Stay safe, stay well, stay cool and stay happy. See you after the weekend.

They should have mooched a couple rounds out of the cretin, then put the hustle out on him.

If it happens, Andy would only have himself to blame. If just paid his tab, Jack’s place would be solvent again.
