Once upon a midnight dreary,

While I pondered, weak and…beery?

He must be having Old Crow.

He came here (to try) to forget. The raven meant to help him do that – but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Takes a back seat to the orioles in Baltimore.

Quoth the Raven “’Nuther Round!.”

Who is this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird of yore? Is he ever going to buy a round? Nevermore.

Edgar Allen Poe-Six-Pack

When he was 26 Poe obtained a license in 1835 to marry his cousin Virginia Clemm (age 13). They were married for 11 years until her death, which may have inspired some of his writing.

Edgar was raven-ous for another. Or was he raven about how great the drinks are?

Perhaps the bartender should say “Nevermore!”
